Dedicated Zoo Crew team members will be trained to: use biofacts (skulls, antlers, horns, pelts, etc.) to assist zoo visitors in learning more about the zoo's animal collection, handle small animals that are part of education programs, prepare animals meals, prepare behavioral enrichment for the animals, assist keepers with cleaning, assist with public giraffe feeding, assist with Summer Safari Day Camps, assist with zoo overnights and special events. A $75 activity fee is required for this program and includes a t-shirt, training manual, behind the scenes field trip to another area zoo and certificate. To apply: All Jr. Zoo Crew team member applicants must submit a one page typed essay about what they expect to gain from this experience, along with two letters of recommendation and a completed application. A limited number of positions will be available in the program. Participants will be selected based on their application, essay, letters of recommendation, and interview. |
